Caregiver - Hydroponic System
I made a simple do it yourself deep water hydroponic cultivation system. The following items can be used to replicate the system:
The Supplies
- $14.95 - General Hydroponics Farm Kit: GH4116
- $02.50 - Hydrofarm 6" Wide Lip Bucket Basket: GH6RDBK
- $11.95 - Airpump w/2 Outlets
- $02.50 - Airstone
- $07.95 - 5 Gallon Bucket.
- $00.00 - 5/8 Drill Bit.
- $00.00 - 3/16 Drill Bit.

Caregiver - Hydroponic System
Hydroponic Step 1.
- Drill a hole (5/8) about 2 inches from bottom. We do this so some solution will stay in the system when we drain and replenish. Drill another hole (3/16) on the plastic ridge. The second hole should NOT be drilled into the bucket.
Hydroponic Step 2.
- Install the grommet, drain hose, and hose retainer.
Hydroponic Step 3.
- Observe how much one should cut the tube to make it fit.
Hydroponic Step 4.
- Cut the ring a little at a time. You can always cut a little shorter, you won't be able to make it longer!
Hydroponic Step 5.
- Cut the bottom net; fitting the Farm Kit and air hose.
Hydroponic Step 6.

Install the airstone by connecting the air tube FIRMLY.
Hydroponic Step 7.

Connect the opposite end of the air tube to the Farm Kit.
Hydroponic Step 8.

Locate the common point of the hose by streeching without pulling.
Hydroponic Step 9.

Cut the hose and connect the two ends to the airpump.
